Biography

Singer and conductor. One of the leading tenors of his generation. Graduate of the Academy of Choral Art named after V.S. Popov and postgraduate studies in two faculties - conducting and vocal.

Winner of numerous competitions and awards: Placido Domingo's Operalia Competition, Los Angeles in two nominations, Francisco Viñas International Competition, Barcelona, ​​Oleg Yankovsky Prize of the Cherry Forest Festival, Luitpold Prize of German Critics, Bella Voce International Vocal Competition, Triumph Russian Prize in Literature and Art, Glinka International Vocal Competition. Scholarship recipient of the Boris Yeltsin scholarship of the first president of Russia (2003-2005). Winner of the Moscow Mayor's Prize in Music and Literature.

In different years, he was a soloist of the State Chamber Orchestra "Moscow Virtuosi", Moscow Theatre "Novaya Opera", St. Petersburg State Academic Opera and Ballet Theatre named after M.P. Mussorgsky - Mikhailovsky Theatre. Dmitry has been performing in the most famous theatres of the world for over 20 years: Milan's La Scala, Paris Opera, Royal Opera House Covent Garden in London, Vienna State Opera, New York's Metropolitan Opera, the Salzburg and Pesarovo Festivals, the Bavarian and Berlin Operas, Brussels' La Monna, Naples' San Carlo, Rome Opera, Arena di Verona and many other theatres and festivals around the world, as well as the Moscow Bolshoi and St. Petersburg Mariinsky Theatres. Since 2014, D. Korchak has been performing as a conductor with various concert programs in Europe. 2016–2020 – Principal Guest Conductor of the Novosibirsk Opera and Ballet Theatre, Guest Conductor of the Mikhailovsky Theatre (St. Petersburg). As a conductor, he collaborates with the Bolshoi and Mariinsky Theatres, the Mikhailovsky Theatre, the Moscow theatres Novaya Opera, Helikon-Opera, the Bolshoi Theatre of Siberia (NOVAT), the State Theatre of Bologna (Italy), the Rossini Festival in Pesaro (Italy), the Sion Festival (Switzerland), the National Philharmonic Orchestra of Russia, the Russian National Orchestra, the Musica Viva Orchestra, the Bolshoi Symphony Orchestra, etc.

D. Korchak is actively involved in musical and educational activities. Initiator of musical-educational and musical-educational projects - International vocal competition of the Elena Obraztsova Foundation: "Jose Carreras Grand Prix" (Moscow), International School of Vocal Mastery (Moscow). Since 2010 - founder and patron of the annual V.S. Popov Prize (Moscow). Since 2021 - teacher of the solo singing department of the V.S. Popov Academy of Choral Art.

Dmitry's discography includes more than 30 albums as a singer and conductor on international labels, and the musician's repertoire includes more than 60 operas.
